The scope

What the client reads

This is the wording the template arrives with. Yours replaces it.

One person for your whole wedding. I write and lead your ceremony as your authorised celebrant, then host your reception as master of ceremonies. I handle your notice of intended marriage and the legal paperwork, and at the reception I introduce the formalities, keep the speeches and the run sheet on time, and work with your venue, your band or DJ and your photographer. Every package states the hours I host for.

Deposit, then balance

How it gets paid

30% is due when the client approves, and the balance when you mark the work delivered. Both payments happen on the same link the proposal is on.

Card or bank transfer, and you choose which per deal. If you want a package to bill every month instead of once, you set that on the package itself when you build the deal, and the client can cancel it from their own link.

Prices are a starting point in Australian dollars. Change the figures, the inclusions and the number of packages to suit what you sell.

What approving the page records

The starting terms

These sit above the approve button. The client reads them, and approving records that they accepted them.

These terms cover this ceremony and hosting.

  • Your notice of intended marriage. Your signed notice must reach me one to 18 months before, counted from receipt; I cannot waive that. If it is late, a court or registry officer may shorten the time on limited grounds; my letter is $300. Otherwise the day becomes a commitment ceremony, legal signing later included.
  • The booking. The deposit holds your date; the balance is due a month before, like your notice.
  • What is included. Your package sets the inclusions and MC hours, from your reception's start, always with your notice, script, paperwork and lodgement. Extra unless listed: MC time $100 per hour when you ask, rehearsal $150, official certificate $70. Bring two witnesses aged 18 or over, or I supply them at $50 each.
  • Travel. Travel past your package is $1 per km; a night away adds accommodation at cost, shown to you first.
  • Lateness. A start over 20 minutes late, on your side, adds $300; I tell you first.
  • GST and loadings. Prices include GST where it applies. Public holidays add 30 percent; other loadings show above with rate and days, never stacked; if none is shown, none applies. Card payment adds no fee.
  • Date moves. One move within 12 months of the booked date keeps all paid if I am free and your notice holds, less costs bought at cost; else the scale runs from your request.
  • Transfer. Your notice moves to another celebrant only with your agreement; if you ask, I transfer it promptly, as a cancellation.
  • If I cannot attend. If for any reason I cannot attend, I arrange another authorised celebrant where possible, for you to agree, at my cost; if your notice cannot reach them, it is a commitment ceremony, legal signing later included. If you decline or none is arranged, all paid is refunded.
  • Cancellation. In writing; I keep only the real loss. With 60 days notice or more, all is refunded less writing and paperwork time at $50 per hour, hours shown, up to the deposit. With 31 to 59 days, I keep the price less what refilling the date earns and costs saved, up to the deposit. Under 31 days I keep the price less what refilling the date earns and costs saved, never more than the payments due.

Approving this page records that you accepted this scope, this price and these terms.

Starting terms, not legal advice. Read them, change what does not match how you work, and have a lawyer look at them if the work is large enough to warrant it. Your own default terms in Settings replace these automatically.
